| Yarn wrapped branch |
We got a real tree this year for Christmas and had extra branches left over from the trimmings. My husband and daughter took all the pine needles off and we used those as a part of our table centerpiece. I really didn't want to throw out the branches and loved the idea of using them as wall decor. I wanted to add some color and came up with the simple idea of wrapping yarn around the branches. I realize that it's not actually an original idea, but I love how it turned out and that we can keep a memento of our Christmas tree all year round. This DIY is really simple, my daughter even helped me with this project.
DIY Wall Decor: Yarn Wrapped Branches
Materials needed:
1. branches
2. scissors
3. yarn
Using the yarn, tie a knot on the branch.
Tightly wrap the yarn around the branch. When the yarn is wrapped the length that you want, tie a knot at the end. Cut any loose ends of yarn from the knot.
Step Three:
Repeat steps one and two on several different areas on the branch, and you're done!

ReplyDeleteOk, this is amazing! I just found a branch on the sidewalk the other day while I was walking with my family. My husband thought I was crazy for wanting to take it home - I just thought it had potential. Now I'm thinking I might need to wrap it in yarn! It looks so fabulous! Thanks for the inspiration!
