Felt Ornaments
A few weeks ago I took a beginner's sewing class and have been wanting to create simple projects with my new sewing skills. I decided to make felt monogram ornaments last week for my family members and I'm really happy with how they turned out. I loosely followed these instructions here and deviated somewhat by hand cutting the letters, adding a ribbon stripe, and doing a blanket stitch around the outer edge of the ornament. The ornaments I made are definitely not perfect--I didn't use matching thread or center the letters perfectly, but I had fun making them and my family enjoys them too. I hope to continue the tradition and make more ornaments for my family next year.

ReplyDeleteI took them at Sewtropolis in Minneapolis. I highly recommend!
DeleteSo funny! I've been making felt ornaments this season too! :) I am making heart-shaped ones and stuffing them. I should take some photos for the blog. I even watched how to do a blanket stitch on youtube! :) These are super cute! Your fam/friends will surely love them! :) xo
ReplyDeleteOh, that is funny! I'd love to see your heart-shaped felt ornaments.
